System recovery will be the way to reformat, if it has not been corrupted too. If it has, you will need the restore disks that come with the computer. I don't know what operating system you have, so I don't know which F# key you will need to hold down to get to recovery mode.

You will have to experiment 1 at a time.

Shut down your computer completely, then restart holding down an F# key ( start at F1, since we don't know which one.) If it doesn't take you there, shut down again %26amp; try F2...ect, ect.. Soon you will find the key that offers system recovery. You will want to do a destructive recovery, so go to the Advanced option. That's where you'll find the destructive. It will tell you that you will lose all files, %26amp; data, but that's the route you have to go at this point.

Ignore the warnings, it's the only way to be sure that you will get rid of the virus. Unless it's in the "d" drive. Then you will need to use the recovery discs.

The "D" drive is the separated section where the recovery files are kept on the hard drive. It can %26amp; sometimes does get infected too. That's why you make the discs when you first get your new computer. Now you will take them for a test drive, if "D" is corrupted.

Either way, once the ball is rolling, the computer does most of the work, you just have to sit %26amp; watch it for times that you will have to click something, or fill in your name and work group.

It's pretty self explanitory once it starts, so don't panic, it will all work out.

Good LuckHow do I wipe my dell desktop clean that has a virus on it?Before going into formatting or reformatting your computer, have you tried cleaning it up, using the safe mode method? Start your computer and repeatly tap the F8 key before the welcoming window. If the menu does not appear, restart and try again. Once it opens, log into safe mode with networking (use the arrow keys of the keyboard to navigate)and press Enter. Start by updating your antispywares, antivirus or download here if you have none

Update all, do a full scan and delete anything found. Restart your computer the normal way , pressing Start/Restart.

I hope it helps a little to get your computer back on its feet. Don't try a formatting on your own, you might loose the computer
