How do i replace the USB port on mt Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop?

My daughter pull her ipod connector from the usb port in the back of her Dell laptop and ruined the port. Is there a way to replace the port. Please any ideas or suppestions will help. The lap top has to be disassemble, if not experienced take to a qualified Dell Service Center or good locale repair center.
