How can i remove my bios password in dell 1420 urgent

i know my bios password but i cant remove it.

-Unplug the power cable.

-Open the case.

-Remove the battery from the motherboard.

-Find the CMOS reset jumper (usually 3 pins in a row, 2 of which will be connected with a jumper: a cap covering both pins)

-Remove it from the 2 pins it's connecting and place it so that the middle pin and the previously unconnected pin are connected:

-Leave it for 10 seconds, then put the jumper back in it's original position

-Put the battery back onto the motherboard

-Close the case

-Plug in the power cable

Note: this will effectively erase all BIOS settings. On most computers the default BIOS settings are fine, but this is not always the case.
