How long can women in the military grow their hair?

I know there are some types of regulations for women hair in the military, but is there any regulation about length? or just hairstyle? How long can women in the military grow their hair?I don't believe there is any regulation on length. The hair must be pulled up in a neat fashion when in uniform, or can hang down if it is less than shoulder-length. You can't wear anything "eccentric" or dye your hair different colors.

When out of uniform, you can wear it as you please. Once again I don't think they care about the length, because you have to pull it up in uniform anyway... Ask your local recruiter to get a solid answer. How long can women in the military grow their hair?
I can speak for Army.

Hair length must not go below the bottom of the collar (and many NCO's will cringe if it even touches the top of it, but by regulation, it can't go past the bottom).

If longer than collar length, hair must be put up - not hanging loose like in a ponytail, but in a bun. Bun width cannot exceed 4 inches in diameter and cannot interfere with wearing of headgear (beret, patrol cap, gas mask, etc.).

Bangs can't go past eyebrows. Hair color must be natural (not as in you can't dye it, but you have to dye it a natural color - not purple). Hair styles cannot be faddish, and if you choose to keep it short, it must still be feminine in appearance (as in, no G.I. Jane).

You can google search Army Regulation 670-1 for more details about Army hairstyles, but as another Answerer already said.... each branch of military service has a different rule about hairstyles.

EDIT: Who TDs an accurate response? Lame. How long can women in the military grow their hair?It varies by branch of service. In the Army you may have it as long as you wish but it must be put up in such a manner as not to interfere with the wear of your hat and still present a proper military appearance. Your bangs also may not touch your eyebrows. If you are talking about unadjusted length then the hair may not touch the bottom of your shirt collar in back.
i have long hair. almost to my waist, but i cut it off to shoulder length to go to BCT for the army. i found the longer it was, the easier it was to keep up and with in regulations. which according to the army and AR 670-1 says a females hair must be kept up above the collar and in a neat appearance. and the bangs must not fall below the eye brows.

i personally would put it in a pony tail with some gel and then wrap the pony tail into a bun. took about a total of 90 seconds. a spray of hair spray and it stayed all day long. and when i left service it was back down to my waist. How long can women in the military grow their hair? You can keep it as long as you wish. It must be maintained in a neat and orderly fashion when in uniform. This means pinned up. The exception to all of this is the Navy. In Navy boot camp, woman's hair is cut to a bob length above the shoulders. This is only for the duration of Boot Camp and then you can grow it out again once you are out in the fleet. How long can women in the military grow their hair?
Air Force you can have it as long as you like providing when its up it doesn't go past your collar, same as the Army.

While I was on active duty, my hair was halfway down my back. I could French Braid my hair in about a minute. Much easier than having short hair and having to style it, etc.
Shoulder length would be a safe bet, as long as you can put it up out of the way when you're in uniform. But I've seen longer. How long can women in the military grow their hair?
As long as you want as long as you keep it neat and off your collar (You can put it in a bun).
it may not touch the collar so it must be put up if long. but it is rarely enforced
didn't know there are rules for that
