Can the military deploy a soldier who is depressed and taking medication for it?

is it possible that the military can actually deploy a soldier who is suffering from depression and taking medication for it?Can the military deploy a soldier who is depressed and taking medication for it?Absolutely. It's a command decision. If the kid is legitimately useless because of head problems, we'll separate them and send them back to the civilian world. But WAY more likely is that he just has W.B.S. (Weak @#$!@ Syndrome) and is afraid to follow through on the commitments he made. So we'll take them downrange and make them guard the mess hall or something. Can the military deploy a soldier who is depressed and taking medication for it?You can't even BE IN the military while on antidepressants. You must have been off them for one year prior to enlisting, and show that you have your depression/anxiety under control without the meds.

EDIT: Matt might be right; I'm only speaking of those trying to ENLIST while on the meds. I shouldn't have assumed the same applied for those already in the service. :-)Can the military deploy a soldier who is depressed and taking medication for it?Yes. The girl above is wrong. I know lots of people in the military on antidepressants and a few weirdos always at mental health who deployed with us.Can the military deploy a soldier who is depressed and taking medication for it?
