This is a tactic by socialist to try and make people believe that we have socialism, so ignorant people will think Socialism is okay for everything in America.
The Constitution is the instructions of the people for what the federal government is supposed to do. It doesn't give the government the power to own the means of production, capital and the land to produce everything. The Constitution does not give the power to government to own and operate the production and manufacture of all of the supplies that the military use. But has the responsibility to protect the people from of enemies that would or do attack the States of America.
And I'm sure you'll just say I don't know what Socialism is.

Let me stop you right there. You don't HAVE to pay for it. Not saying they won't come and get the money sooner or later.
We have a national military for a reason. I believe WWII proved to us that we could not quickly respond to an enemy attack. That's why we have a privatized military industry now.
Maybe we don't always need to have huge numbers, but we do need a military force that can respond quickly in the event of a national emergency.
The gov't doesn't have a monopoly on military force. Haven't you ever heard of the Second Amendment? The right of the people to keep and bear arms, so on and so forth... And then those people who already have arms may go on and form a well-regulated militia. Well regulated doesn't mean they can go and tell them you can and can't have this... It just means that they should be trained like a regular military force and be subject to all the same rules and oversight.

The military is a totalitarian environment. The men that stormed the beaches of Normandy into machine gun fire and mortar shells were not allowed to have a vote (or an encounter group) to see if they wanted to die. It was simply... You will go and you will probably die.
That totalitarian environment created and now protects this democratic Republic.

The military provides a service to the government. It is not a self-contained economy. It's operating expenses come from outside it's structure.
The federal government is supposed to provide for the " common defense " as written in the Constitution.
