What are the process of joining any military branch?

I am seriously thinking of joining the military i am planning on going and talking to a recruiter within a month once I'm done with school. I would like to know what are the processes you have to go through before you enlist in any branch. Do you get a physical done a background check do you get a say in what you're going to be doing if you enlist. When do you take the asvab test before or after you enlist. What are the process of joining any military branch?First, you talk to a recruiter. The recruiter will ask you about things that may disqualify you from the military.

After that, your recruiter will explain and give you a date to visit a Military Exam Processing Station (MEPS). Your recruiter must provide you transportation to/from, and its likely that the nearest MEPS isn't too close to where you live. However, the recruiter is not allowed to lead you through the process.

Then, most likely when you get there, you will take the ASVAB test. You will then be sent to a hotel room (most likely not by yourself, but its free and they give you a free breakfast), to sleep for the night.

That day you will get your physical, pick your MOS (military occupational specialty, or what you are going to do while you're in the military), be fingerprinted, weighed, see a doctor, ect. It's important not to lie about any conditions you may have or of prior drug use, or any incidents which involved the law. This may take a while depending on how many others are waiting, too.

And then eventually, if everything goes well, you'll be told you can sign out and then when you need to be back.

You can't enlist until you've gotten an okay to join. And once you're enlisted, your U.S. Property.

Good luck!
