What do you think about the government stopping military pay?

Do you think it's fair that the military who defends the lives of people who live in the United States are getting their pay stopped while the congress and president's doesn't budge?



Also, firefighters, policemen, etc..what are your thoughts on this?What do you think about the government stopping military pay?I know I'm going to get a lot of td's for this -- and I DON'T think it's fair that there could possibly be another cut in something, somewhere...

but honestly, I'm so sick of hearing about this. NO ONE has job stability -- this is just another thing happening in this stupid, never-ending recession. I'm so sick of it. it's not good but we're the dumb people who voted those dumb people into office so there's no one to really blame but ourselves. I think they're going to figure it out sooner rather than later and I think everyone is getting themselves into a huge tizzy when there is absolutely no need to do so -- the government has shut down before and it will do so again.

*I know lots of government employees...and I AM worried about it all -- but this whole thing is getting to be so ridiculous that it's literally laughable. they're a joke. what the hell are they doing -- their job is to pass budgets and laws. they're not doing their dumb jobs. they should stop getting paid -- are they still getting paid? they're the ones who aren't doing anything!

I think it's very, very sad that it has come to this and I am completely disgusted with every single member of Congress and the President for allowing things to snowball from a disagreement over spending cuts to an ideological showdown under threat of shutdown.



I think it's also a great eye-opener to many Americans that something is very wrong in Washington DC, and that it's vital to have an emergency fund of savings for something like this.What do you think about the government stopping military pay?I think they need to put on their big kid panties and stop acting like children. They are suppose to be making decisions that effect the entire country not just their interests- and yet they are not making a decision to support our troops who are protecting their right to bicker. here is what they should hear :

Dear Government: If you feel the need to stop paying our military personnel, then I think you should feel the need to stop paying yourselves - or take their place. I'd like to see you support your family without a pay check! Maybe if you take your pay check down to less than $100K it would help some of the budget issues in America. I'd like to see you survive on enlisted military personnel pay!
they are civilians like anybody else, they chose their job and they should have to deal with it the same as any other person who chose a federal job. dont blame democrats, blame rich republicans who want tax breaks for the rich but use peoples emotions for the people in the military as a pawn to try to push a budget that fits their ideology. they wont bargin, they dont take no for an answer, they are just another bully who thinks its ok for them to go around telling people what she should be doing but cant be told what to do, a manipulator, an abuser, plain and simple truth. they wont understand that because they are narcissists, its a psychological condition and denial is their main defense mechanism.What do you think about the government stopping military pay?I was going to say that its not just military who loses pay but all government employees. except for the congressmen of course.. I think the best solution would be to stop the congresmen pay until they can figure this budget out. And no backpay either when its done. If you cant act like adults and come together for the people who have elected you then why should you get paid???What do you think about the government stopping military pay?
It has happened before, will probably happen now, and likely will happen again in the future.



They will be getting half-pay tomorrow.

That's horrible. I really wish Congress would effing swallow their pride and agree with something. A budget they don't agree with is better than no budget at all!
Pay isn't being stopped, just withheld and we will get all the back pay later.. in the meantime yes it does suck.
I think it kind of feels like my family, and our troops, have been spit in the face for their service.
And they wonder why it's hard to recruit enough good people to fight a war.
