My husband is in the military and I am trying to get a ticket for him to come home this weekend. It is last minute and we were not informed of him being able to come home until an hour or two ago...Any suggestions for cheaper tickets?Any way to fly our military loved ones home and not spend an arm or leg?Weekends are the worst possible time to find a reasonable commercial flight.
Try for a military airlift Space Available Flight. It's a crapshoot, but you might luck out. Realize you gotta get BACK too.
Non-refundable/exchangeable tickets are cheapest, but that means exactly what it says: if his plans change you can't get a refund-or changing them is going to cost you.
MORE IMPORTANTLY: Since he's leaving the "local area" is he on leave, TDY or pass? If he's not and he gets injured/can't make it back on Monday he's in a no-kiddin' world of hurt.

Thats sad. I have been in this same problem before. Last minute ticket , not knowing an exact date of leave so you can book a flight. you can try armyonesource.com , You can try to have him travel space A, which means he will be on a waiting list for a military flight and most of the time it goes by rank and priority such as an injured soldier, death in family ,,etc... depending on where you live also is a choice whether you can calculate is renting a car cheaper than flying. i used Delta because they usually have the lowest airfares i have seen. Most of the travel sites have delta as the lowest so try them.Any way to fly our military loved ones home and not spend an arm or leg?I know your pain. My wife and I have spent over $3,000 in a year in flights from overseas. I have not used this site before but I am always on the look out for cheap airfare too. Good luck!

have him check into MAC flights from the military terminals.
20 dollars in US
30 international.
He will be having to fly from a place with military terminals
to another locations where there is some type of military installation.
