What does it mean when your laptop loads the dell screen and shuts off and loads the dell screen repeatedly?

Ok so my laptop (Dell 9300 Inspiron) seems to shut on and off and thats it. It doesn't even say No boot On Internal HardDrive. Can anyone tell me why its doing this? What does it mean when your laptop loads the dell screen and shuts off and loads the dell screen repeatedly? This is possibly an error in the last update or a bad sector in the boot files you should be able to repair it via the safe mode.

Restart and press the F8 (F10/F12) key to enter the safe mode and then use system restore to revert back to a time before the problem then stop the update from loading againWhat does it mean when your laptop loads the dell screen and shuts off and loads the dell screen repeatedly? So you're saying that it tries to POST (power on self test) and then repeatedly restarts? I'd guess it was failing during the power on self test. Try going into the bios and changing it to a FULL POST (some things are skipped in the non full, and you might get an error message about what the issue might be) but overall, i'd say it doesn't sound good.

Assuming it's not a hardware issue (that everything else is actually ok) it's possible your bios somehow got corrupted. You might be able to reflash it with the latest bios release for you computer, as can be found on dell's service site for your computer.
