There is someone in my town that says he is one thing in the military, and I do not believe him. Is there a free way to search for what he did in the military? Is there a way to search what someone does in the military with just their name?No not unless you have something like the Armies AKO account and other branches have theirs as well. There you can find people and see their job or MOS or rate or whatever which will tell you what their primary job is but other than that it is not public knowledge for good reason. Not sure what this person is telling you but if they are running around bragging about it, normally not true unless they have an oversized ego. It took folks a long time to even figure out I was in the Army then and now because I don't go around waving a flag needing the attention and the majority of other don't either. Most folks use "I'm a SEAL and or Special forces while 99.9 % of the folks who actually do those jobs, you could never tell because they rarely if ever do either as they are proud of what they do but professional enough to not have to brag about it for attention. Maybe educate yourself on the job they say they do and then play twenty questions and see if they slip. Other than that I would just walk away but that is me.Is there a way to search what someone does in the military with just their name? Some info is available thru The National Archives or the Branch they were in. You will need to have the right name, years the person was in and the SSN helps a lot...doubt you will get that.
The ease of getting this stuff is not so easy. Again you have to have enough info about Joe Smith as there may be a lot of freaking Joe Smiths. You are only going to be given the part of the records that is considered public domain. Name, rank, MOS, type of discharge, medals authorized, badges authorized....that be it.
It is not free.
What do the boy say and how old do it be?Is there a way to search what someone does in the military with just their name?Nope - you need a Secrete or higher security clearance and a waver order to do anything remotely like that.
You could search google or facebook, etc however - a lot of military folks have stuff about them online put there by themselves for a variety of motives.
