How do i restore my dell back to facorty settings?

I have a Dell 8250 and i want to bring it back to the point when i got it. The only Disk i have is the Windows XP disk. All i need to do is Wipe everything out and reinstall, how do i do that?How do i restore my dell back to facorty settings?Put the windows disk in the CD/DVD rom and re boot



Now it should ask you "press any key to boot to CD" when it re boots.

follow the directions from there. you don't really need to format the drive, you can re install windows over the previous install and wipe it clean without having to loose your files.



most often i just re install windows to a folder like "win2" or "windows2" and delete the old "windows" folder when i get everything set up and its running fine.
