How do you scan photos on a Dell Epson Photo 926 Printer?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with WIndows Vista and the the printer came with the laptop (the one mentioned above). How do I scan photos? On the printer I use the guide to set it to scan which is fine but there is something that I am supposed to open on my laptop but I cna;t figure it out.
